FenekO provides customised aluminium processing solutions. The company produces fly screens and is specialised in sheet metal working. Every item that leaves the production hall is unique. At FenekO, speed and quality are key concepts. FenekO therefore invests constantly in optimising its automated production process, which is how it came across Globis.
“We used many different tools for the production and order processing of each unique series of articles,” said Kurt De Bondt, Director of Operations at FenekO. “We had our own solution, based on Excel and Access, for sheet metal working, which FenekO continued to develop over the years. However, we needed a global ERP system capable of managing everything.”
“We were specifically looking for a flexible product configuration tool that we could work on. This is because we have in-house software engineers who ensure the logic of the possible configurations of our products is built into the ERP system. Globis was therefore the best partner: it develops the foundation for the software, and we handle the implementation. In addition, we can easily build new product configurators into the ERP system ourselves.”
The patented Globis configurator allows FenekO to build new configurations, which are designed to ensure orders are entered and processed without errors. FenekO uses the GlobScan barcode scanning module to manage the warehouse flow and the GlobJob module to record the various production stages. Following a test period, all FenekO’s customers went live last year.
FenekO intends to expand the package further by adding a customer portal where customers can place orders and track their invoices and delivery notes. The aluminium processing company also intends to continue working on a more intelligent production process. Globis has offered FenekO the underlying digital platform so that the company can continue to automate its processes and be fully prepared for Industry 4.0.
